Not really, I was under the impression CSS was for styling things not for creating them. If we're going to start creating shapes out of CSS then its kinda going out of scope of what it was designed for.

I agree with keypusher. Firefox 'took off' long before the whole add-ons/extensions became popular. It was being able to use tabs which caused many too switch back in the day (plus it was faster to, or at least felt that way)

It seems to me like Apache was designed more for hosting multiple websites for different users (the .htacces for example) With Nginx It's not so easy for a jailed user to change his settings unless he's given access to the config.

Maybe, but I don't think that's what Rob Pike envisaged when designed Go. It looks to me like Go was aiming for low level use. It seems odd that we're trying to use it for web development, its like making web frameworks in C

Without coming across rude (I'm genuinely interested). Do people actually develop/design sites for text-only browsers? I thought that stopped happening over a decade ago.

This should be renamed to 'How well do you know Browser Quirks?' as the test is more about that than HTML itself

"Python has been getting bloated in recent years" Didn't Python 3 do more removing/tidying up than actually adding of stuff?

I do hope this isn't true, Fireworks certainly had its place, Photoshop was overkill for designing web pages. I suppose it only fitted a small niche but it still did a great job!

You can't really compare skate-boarding critics to 'nerds' behind a screen. For 1, the reason we have so much of this is because of the anonymity of it all. It's quite easy to criticise others in an abusive manner when nobody/barely anybody

Exactly this. It would take some AI to work it out, unless using the context around the link. "Sun" could refer to many things, its not really possible for wikipedia to know which one you're on about. So links are still done manually.

fully agree, we really shouldn't be testing/supporting IE6 anymore unless targeting a high proportionate of ie6 users (which these days is unlikely)

Python is a High Level language, it was never designed with the intention of being as fast as C or Java or other lower level languages. As someone else pointed out the V8 has had a lot of backing and full time development, where as pypy, Cp

I really do think wave's only problem was it was just ahead of its time. The idea behind it was good and it worked well, yes it heavily used js resources but faster JS engines these days would cope with that. Its a shame really, but I suppo

A work factor of 19 seems like overkill. I read that even 08 (less than half that) would suffice in today's world.

I agree, I was expecting some CSS hackery. But this is nothing more than using CSS for pixels. With that logic you could theoretically create anything.
