I'm sure eventually node will have it's very own Tornado/Twisted/Boost/etc that you can then apply to your argument.

I still disagree that software, critical or not, written in these languages is a bad thing and although some languages are moving away from a C/C++ compiler their are still traits carried on through from previous versions to each new versio

It seems to me that people seem to magic away these things... The only type of context they can place programming/using languages is within in a web application and anything under that is irrelevant.

But C/C++ are the building blocks for all these other languages, your argument seems to suggest that it's impossible to write critical systems in these languages.. but what would the alternative be? Surely if this is the case we can't use L

This is true especially in the autumn/winter. Unfortunately my self confidence on the road usually get's the best of me. As much as I hate to say it, maybe there should be some sort of guidelines/laws to cycling on the road; I know there ar

It is a lot safer to cycle in London now than it was say 5 years ago; we don't have the same cycle infrastructure as say Holland, but we have made some good steps in that direction.

I very much agree with your last statement; if you are undertaking a bus or other large vehicle you probably shouldn't be cycling at all. Of course there are exceptions to this. Although lighting is a very important factor of being safe whe

I find it difficult to understand how you have come to this stance; if they are providing the API as a free service, why should they put themselves out in any way or more specifically risk the chance of abuse? Also, on one hand you ask for

Maybe I'm missing the point, but this looks more clunky; having to carry around a keyboard and an iPad, surely just a laptop is more convenient?

I think that might just be in the USA, or at least we don't have this in the UK. It seems to me quite cheeky to charge the recipient also; you wouldn't charge someone to receive a letter.

A Dutch friend once told me that bike theft in Holland was pretty ripe, but it was more of a social norm; people wouldn't feel bad about stealing a rubbish bike and then leaving it somewhere for someone else to steal.. the bikes would almos

It sure beats getting any form of public transport, being stuck in such a confined space, especially in the morning is horrific. the time difference is also huge; I can cycle the 7miles quicker than the tube or bus.

long long ago, version control was something i avoided as i was yet to see it's benefits and it was an avoidance to the problem at hand (learning to program). with git this isn't as necessary, woopla.
