I thought the same thing, "meh", until I had an epiphany last night. I really think this changes everything. People keep leaning on the document aspects of it, but I tend to think of sites like reddit, digg, hn, even 4chan and how, if appl

You can't install cracked stuff through Cydia, you have to use something like installous via hackulo.us.

Wouldn't it save you a whole lot of time to do it in Obj-C in the first place?

The flash demo jerked and jumped around in bandwidth a lot. The SilverLight demo worked better, but the picture was worse than the Flash version. BitGravity works wonderfully though. Also, we've been using Panther/CDNetworks without a hitc

There is no nice way to put this, but if you are deploying PHP on Windows for anything other than some retarded legacy IT BS, you are mentally deficient. Straight up. And comparing a compiled (kinda) language to a badly interpreted one is

For internal servers we name them after hot girls: kaila, tila, evelyn, jenna, etc. You can always be assured a steady stream of hot women in the world. For production: db1, web1, balancer1, etc.

Forgot the most important one: 1. Completely open hardware, Apple encouraged hacking. Contrast that with the iPhone and ... well ... sigh.

There aren't any open source CUDA apps that do transcoding, so far they are all Windows apps. And non-scriptable ones at that, which rules out web scale.

What are the use cases for setting up reverse proxies for production web apps (of medium to small scale) versus using a CDN like Panther Express/CDNetworks? (Genuinely curious)

Show me an open source encoder with GPU support. From my research, when you are doing high quality encodings the speed difference is negligible at best. Also, at web scale encoding time isn't nearly as important as the ability to go parall
