I'd love to figure out how to get tmux/screen keybindings for this. Opening a browser and using it within an existing terminal (without needing the mouse) would be incredibly close to the ideal workflow for me.

Its pretty kludgy, but X forwarding to a local VM that runs it is actually usable. It's also available through MacPorts apparently, though I haven't had a chance to try it.

Thanks for the rename, whoever did that. Couldn't figure out how to properly phrase it without being super link-baity.

I think the interesting thing is how it is literally impossible to judge his sincerity. For all we know, he could have given us a 100% spot-on description of psychopathy, or he could be lying through his teeth - without experiencing his lif

Drivers are usually kernel-tied more than anything else. I wouldn't expect too much improvement from the FOSS drivers like Nouveau (I suspect the performance required of modern games is still out of their reach), but the binary X drive

I plan on using this next time I have to do some quick and dirty python hacks at work. Sometimes the effort involved in "properly" initializing someone's module far outweighs whatever potential benefit you get out of the modu

That particular outcome had happened less than 5 other times in the history of the modern NCAA. 99/100 times that game ends with either an Alabama win or O.T. He hardly made a controversial decision.

What does Wisconsin have to do with this at all? I can't find a single reference to the state on the site. I can't help but wonder how the physical location of a social-networking start-up could possibly affect that start-up'

I would call it a sensationalist title, but the article itself is far from sensational. I actually found the writing to be pleasantly balanced and scientifically detailed, without jumping to unreasonable conclusions.

I don't think this is a problem with G+ per se, just a bad sorting algorithm. What would a good comment sorting algorithm even look like for Youtube? Something like HN/Reddit votes would be worth a try but I wouldn't be surpr

At 2000 kIPS you may have a few generations of javascript engines to go before we get there. That's not meant to take away from this project - it truly is amazing what can be interpreted in the browser now.

Failing to figure out how to send an email to an individual when they sign up may be a problem. In the case of validation I tend to look at it as "What is the minimum I can check for to ensure that I can get the data that I need out of

If they could port this to Kindle somehow (or partner with a physical, non-backlit reader manufacturer) I would be in in a heartbeat. Until then I wish them luck and sincerely hope this sort of business model takes off.

As a practical matter this would most likely be a total non-starter - losing all that licensing revenue in one fell swoop would probably not be palatable to shareholders. As a thought experiment, however, it is plenty enticing. Vulnerabilit
