I'm sorry but this is upside down on every point. 1) Netflix UX is perfectly fine. You see the film, you click play - that's it. There is no argument to be made that a) it's bad or b) pirate.com couldn't duplicate it. Th

If there were no DRM at all, it'd be trivial to host content with a few ads and the UX would be just fine. Spotify only came to exist because of the massive piracy problems of MP3 - it was all available there for sale, but people would

" decides to solve the obvious problems that cause people to pirate" - you mean like giving away everything for free? Well yeah, something someone else made, but for free, instead of $4.99, that's a 'better product'

That's some heavy handed humanization of ants attitudes there. "in in an effort to prove they're working hard to the other ants" "all ants to be comfortable allowing some of their ant peers to work less" Or may

It's an entirely different world, make sure you want to transition and it will be highly dependent on organization so talk to the org and work out a path, or talk to managers in other companies to see about it. Always easier within the

So yes, but, it's not very clear at all, and this idea that 'China is making the loans so they default and then get access to ports' is 'rationally cynical' but not quite right. Also, everyone is aware that this cou

No, this is not true. The loans were not made by special investment banks but regular banks of China, if they are not repayed it will be havoc. They expect the loans to be repaid, and are definitely in trouble now that there are defaults. A

I think Thai food is just really appropriate for the Western palette, it's way better than the ultra-westernized 'not real Chinese' food of the 1970s, and my experience with Korean is that it's a lot of vinegared/pi

They don't pay enough is the point. Really smart and competent people don't work for 1/2 wages unless they are caught up in some kind of system like in Korea where it's a culturally backed norm and frankly they can'

Better redistribution would last a very short while to provide 'more growth' and ironically that is the big canard. 'Equitable' distribution is not the objective - what we want is 'distribution that creates the most

This comment is why the industry died in the US. There is no such thing as a 'free market' really. Once people have been pulled into a specific academic program without 'true knowledge of market forces', the switching co

You missed the part where they do it for a fraction of the salary. I suggest there's a kind of 'cultural imperative' in Korea that is so different from the US that it doesn't even begin to factor into our equations. My K

Probably more aptly named 'Venture Dumping' because 'dumping' would be a bit more like the classical term but that just doesn't have the right 'ring' to it.

A 'great' NFL/NBA game experience indeed would be the 'killer app' to make the platform, but I don't see how Apple will have something that crosses the threshold. But they probably have at least a surprise or t

It's really odd to fathom who someone would not understand why Xi wants to take Taiwan, and 'chips' has nothing to do with it. People need to take a much, much broader mindset. China views Taiwan as part of China, and that&#x

I suggest that the 'modern toxic version of the American Dream' is defined mostly by people who want to define it as toxic. So you could say that maybe Zuckerburg represents that, which would make it kind of toxic, but I don'

This is not a user privacy vs. megacorp story, it's a national security story. I wish there was a megacorp privacy story to run here, sadly, I'm not sure Congress will go for it. There is only one solution and that is for TT to be

Almost assuredly not a bad thing. Our #1 'economics' problems is that we do not measure 'consumer surplus'. If everything all of a sudden cost 1 cent to buy, the GDP would disappear, but the value to each of us would be
