All the things you mentioned, like discrimination, sound like ways that companies safeguard against losing money, not earning it like I asked. They all also sound like money losers to me in practice. For example, if someone refuses to hire

If there's a lot of money to be made, could you give some concrete examples with that have wide applicability? Ideally I'd like to hear something better than just selling it to an advertiser or data broker.

It's important to specify which OS is being used because spawning goes a lot faster on Linux which has vfork(). If 40 spawns per second is the Linux speed, then I don't even want to know what that looks like on Darwin and OpenBSD.

What's wrong with assembly? What's wrong with aligning a pointer and turning the sanitizer off if need be? If you're making machine specific assumptions then you should be programming against the machine rather than the langu

What about tools like ASAN? I want it to be able to tell me if I read a single character out of bounds. Tools like ASAN can't do this if the language gets rid of undefined behavior. The reason why undefined behavior is undefined is bec

Didn't Elon kill Twitter's search feature though? He probably didn't want reporters abusing the platform to write smear pieces. Now thanks to Elon and journalists being terrible, everything gets flushed down the memory hole a

On the other end of the spectrum there's companies like Ford that track and sell the driving data of every user for $1 per user per year when that user paid them $1000s of dollars. Then there's Microsoft, which charges you for Win

Oh no! Facebook knows who I am! No they are not selling me. How can they sell my attention to advertisers when I don't look at their ads? How can they influence me if I don't engage with their algorithm? You're the one who&#x

I'm perfectly happy with them draining the life essence out of the people crazy enough to still use Facebook, if they're funneling the profits into advancing human progress with AI. It's an Alfred Nobel kind of thing to do.

Yeah Linux still works exactly this way. The modern WIN32 API even works that way too. When you ReadConsoleInput() it gives you teletypewriter style keyboard codes. When I wrote a termios driver for Cosmopolitan to have a Linux-style shell
