   no don't do that. if you are solo, you need to be focussed on what you are building. Creating something of HN scale would consume you and if you just want a community for few people, just add them to a mailing list or something.

   I don't think marketing of services is encouraged here. I would not want to work with someone who doesn't even advertise his name/place on his portfolio site.

   I fail to understand the need. GMail has a lab feature called "Canned response", it does exactly what you do and its integrated into Gmail. Also, search-and-forward would work just fine.

    I was under the impression that PNG/Gif/JPEG are already in compressed form. Your examples also do not show achieving any significant reduction in image size.

    I track number of lines of code I write every month. I use statcvs which generates nice graphs over my CVS repository.
