I've been blocking Flash for a while now. Not because of security, but because it's almost always annoying. Check out Steven Frank's thoughts on the subject: http://stevenf.tumblr.com/post/73315911/the-politics-of-flas...

From the article: "Under the deal, the Porsche and Piëch families, Porsche's shareholders, would obtain 50 percent of the shares in the merged VW-Porsche company." Interesting form of acquisition.

Not only is this on Palm, but I suspect they planned it. They knew Apple wouldn't allow this to happen. It forces Apple to generate their own bad press. Next step is for Palm to write a workaround and look like the hero. Except they should'

From the article: 'Ten percent of users create 90 percent of content, researchers find'. Welcome to the internet, metro.us and Harvard researchers. Most sites have a lot more people reading than contributing. Twitter is just a platform. Exp

A CMS will probably get something up faster, but writing your own code will definitely be better for later customization. Maintenance really depends on what you build. How much do you want to fine tune and customize?

They need to be looking into a consumption tax to replace the income tax, not a value added tax. Once again, they're overcomplicating an already very complicated issue.

Half that $40k would also buy an E46 M3, which would be a whole lot more fun that the Lexus or Mazda. For the whole $40k you may be able to find an early Porsche 997 (like an '05) with little if any noticeable wear.

How about making the 'add to iTunes' step optional? Laptops and large video collections just don't mix.

The hypocrisy comes from claiming the censorship is based on moral grounds when it clearly isn't. Dropping GTA but keeping Saints Row; not selling 21st Century Breakdown because of profanity but selling The Boondock Saints just two aisles o

I don't think he meant it as a legal obligation, just an obligation to its customers. Selling a censored album, even if it's labeled, isn't selling the real album. It's a rip-off. Considering the movies and video games they still sell, it's

Do you want centralized or decentralized version control, do you plan on doing a lot of branching, and are offline commits important?

You're correct. But you should be able to test the code on your machine and make sure it's correct before committing it. Your development machine should be able to run the same code as your server. Making changes to the public site is a ver

I'd definitely use version control. There's no reason you can't make quick updates with version control. You'll each have a copy of the whole site (maybe with test databases) on your dev machines, and should be able to make the update, test
