That's probably for the best. Writing init scripts is easy enough for that small percentage of users (like gp) who really need it. Good choice on Debian's part, imho.

This is excellent! I'll be using this for my OSR sandbox campaign for sure! Note that if you want to use this for a hexcrawl, the hexes it generates are 50mi on their short diagonal - this means they fit five (four and two halves) 6 mi

Yeah I learned Perl in 2013 or so and I almost exclusively use it as a better shell+sed for text munging, which is where it excels. In my experience Python is super bad at this compared to Perl or even shell

Loper-os seems to suffer from the same problems as a lot of "unix hater"/lisp weenie types: while he does point out real flaws in the computing of today, he seriously lacks in a competent, coherent, non-vaporware alternative.

Profitable, maybe, but better than before? No. YouTube's culture and ux have slowly been killed by Google over the years, and the platform is becoming more bland and homogenized as we speak.
