The other factor is that it’s just a job - you are not getting married! You can take their offer, and if it doesn’t work out or if something better comes along, you can just resign.

It seems nuts to me too - MS Defender has this out of the box. From looking at sysadmins on reddit, it seems that CS has a tiered update mechanism, but didn’t use it for this change.

One of the things that bit one of our teams of developers for about 6 years was the Docker Hub pull limit -- poor configuration (established in the early days of the project), and no caching would occasionally break our builds for a day whe

Do fewer things! If you have your days so full that you finish all your stuff at bedtime, you have too many things happening. Find a way to categorise into important/somewhat-important/not-important, and just give yourself permiss

“Piracy” has been used in relation to IP since the 1700s. It’s not a new thing (think pirate radio, pirate buses).

I was interested to read (WSJ so I won't link - I read on reader mode...) that Microsoft was earlier this year losing between $20 - $80 per user per month on Github Copilot, due to the expense of running the thing. It seems like LLM-ba

I agree with all of this - and the skill that leaders need isn’t demonstrating (intermediates can do this), but coaching - this will help develop the team to be able to solve the issues themselves.
