I disagree (and I actually do have a degree in mechanical engineering). Success and failure is not binary. There is always an expectation range. If your result is at the bottom of that range, it is more of a failure, if it is at the upper e

Good argument, didn't think of that. And there may not even be a journalist working anymore at that magazine.

It probably wasn't AI at all. That magazine has just about 25,000 subscribers, so you can guess the quality of their journalism. Out of their authors most likelike just made it up and put the "AI" label on it to make it &quot

That is American positive thinking. Usually really good for motivation, but sometimes annoying and hard to read for us non-US people.

I totally bought into it (before the launch) until I actually scanned the QR code.

One of Baerbock's main aides is literally a US citizen: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/about-us/leadership-feder... I am still not sure how this was possible.

by jansan 4y ago
The reactions on Baerbock's previous sloppy remark that "we are in war with Russia" showed that nobody takes her seriously. China knows that they can more or less ignore her and wait until the current government is pushed out

In most parts of the world you can buy alcohol when you are 18, in many parts you can buy soft alcohol (beer, wine) at 16, but you cannot drive a car at 16. Both are fine IMO, as long as you cannot drive a car AND buy alcohol at 16.

I would not call is fascism, but totalitarianism is not far off the mark. Luckily the liberal democrats (a party in Germany) finally grew some balls and stopped at least the most extreme demands of the greens.

I was not aware until recently that most air conditionings can produce heat really efficiently. For hot water, efficiency is quite low, so using a simple air conditioning for room heating combined with an electric boiler for shower water wo

Looks a bit like Euro 6 standard, with a lower CO limit. Given that meanwhile cars use the same engines worldwide, shouldn't this be a non-issue?

There obviously is still a long way to go for Safari to become "good", but I think they are on the right way. For example I have one weird bug than only occurs on an M1 machine. For some reason getComputeStyle() returns wrong valu

That is really awesome. But OP and parent talk about Microsoft Teams.

THis isn't necessarily a contradiction. Microsoft Edge is basically a Chrome fork, and without doubt challenges Chrome.

I love SVG, but there are a lot of improvements that I can think of: conic gradients, better (and faster) filters, a less awkwards non-scaling stroke definition, better color spaces for gradients, lightweight symbols that are not copies in

Just out of curiosity, what has replaced icon fonts?
859.
by jansan 4y ago
Probably not, because it is just a file format, which does not specify how things are rendered. But while we are at that, I wish SVG rendering of large paths on Chrome would be as fast as it was before hardware "acceleration" was

My father-in-law left a whole килер full of self-made Rakia when he died. I cannot say that I like any kind of Rakia, but we sometimes use it as a prophylaxis against cold, because we cannot imagine that any virus can survive that stuff.
