What are some reasons you can’t find a job? I’d love to be able to tell my AVP that I can hire someone for $2.50/hour. We’ve paid $20/hour for data entry clerks just as a stop-gap measure before we automate things. At such a price

Where do you live? I live in Canada and I find that Apple Maps is way too late to tell me when to turn. I'm driving along at 90km/h and it tells me to turn two seconds before I pass the rural intersection, which isn't enough

iPhone 5S isn’t subject to the battery-related CPU throttling. My iPhone 6 took 10 seconds to load apps, but after a battery replacement it takes me about 4 seconds. Also, I noticed that apps stay in memory longer which means that I don’t h

I have a 2011 Macbook Air (13-inch) and my battery has a “Service Battery” alert. It’s very slow when the battery is not at full capacity but it’s fine when the battery is full. I ordered a replacement battery off Amazon last week.

You might not be American. I had the same confusion when I called 911 to report an accident driving across the US and they asked me if the truck was a "semi". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semi-trailer_truck

Thank you for this. I thought about how I handled my intrusive thoughts (also about eight years ago) and I realized I wrote songs about it. I have never been as prolific as a songwriter since I became generally happy, but reading your comme

I read a sentiment that I found myself nodding to: people will stop driving when it’s convenient for them. Some people love driving, and some people love riding horses, but you don’t see many horses on city streets today.

Reminds me of a longstanding similar issue. I regularly type Korean on my iPhone, and autocorrect has been historically terrible on iOS. It will replace entire correct and valid words with completely unrelated words. No Korean I know keeps

Loved it. Does anyone get smooth scrolling, or does the animation stutter even on high end machines? Not complaining, just trying to figure out if I have the wrong settings for my PC.

In a review of Google Home, I was amazed to learn that you can ask "Who is the guy that plays God in a lot of movies" and Google will answer back with Morgan Freeman. I'd love to try asking the questions from this site to Goo

I like the TechCrunch title better ("Google fixes a big problem with AMP"). "Google fixes problem with AMP" makes it sound like there's only one problem with AMP.

Film isn't necessarily less accurate than digital capture, especially with film cameras that do automatic exposure and focus. Film uses chemical reactions to capture light, and digital uses electrical signals. Accuracy is based on how

Even if Apple hardware is a feat of mechanical engineering and precision, I don't want to upgrade my Macbook Air or iPhone 6 with an Apple product right now because nothing fits my needs. I want a phone with a flat back that won't

Zipcars are actually fairly clean, in my experience. Professionally cleaned regularly and it's easy to track who caused a mess if the next person in the car reports it.

Interesting that people have a very different reaction when they see a working video and not just some ideas. Last time this was posted on Hacker News three years ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6451350
