Reminds me of the fact that filenames in OneDrive are even more restrictive because of some legacy SharePoint software that was representing filenames in URLs. "?" and "#" were not allowed in OneDrive for Business for a

This makes me wonder if there's a tool that can auto-generate random inputs and send them to the application. (maybe excluding Alt-Tab to avoid switching away from the application) Fuzzing is a pretty popular testing technique for libr

The most interesting part for me is that Firefox and Chrome use the same drawing library for 2D canvas. Does this mean that all engines use the same library? Or does WebKit use something else? It reminds me of the Web SQL situation where ev

Agreed. The red LED seems to be a conscious choice to indicate something that you need to get rid of (like those notification badges on iOS app icons or the unread indicator on Facebook). This is especially jarring as the rest of Alexa LEDs

Email? Text messages? Phone calls? Those are the only alternatives with enough penetration to rival WhatsApp (that I know of). I know that they are not secure, but neither is WhatsApp.

Link previews are generated server-side, I think. The app sends a request to a Facebook API for every link that you send/receive. Usually this returns the little image + text snippet that you see in the app, but obviously this could al

I think that’s what he was getting at when he said: > Most allowed are owned by large companies. He was implying that big companies are not in the business of selling their extensions. Smaller actors are more susceptible to this.

I was talking about the use of `browser.tabs.executeScript`. You have to define a content script [0] in the manifest instead. I presume that's what Google's extension does, too. [0]: https://developer.mozilla.org/e

Luckily, not everything uses WiFi. There are tons of Zigbee and Z-Wave devices which physically don't have a WiFi chip. Of course, you should build your own bridge to connect them to (rather than using the bridge of a big tech company)

Did you look at the source that I linked? Craig Federighi is a pretty high-level Apple employee. He seems to be saying that the lack of Bootcamp is because Microsoft is unwilling to allow it (rather than Apple).
