I think they are just generating fingerprints of the video data on the device. Then they send it to the cloud where they compare it with a huge database of TV shows, etc. Similar to what Shazam does for music.

I think you could, but you wouldn't leave your phone in the shop for other employees to use. You would have to buy a dedicated phone for the purpose... At that point you can also buy a dedicated calculator instead.

Does COVID still exist meaningfully in your part of the world? In my country the first few waves were very strong, but after a successful vaccination campaign (among other things) COVID has completely disappeared in everybody’s daily lives.

What would stop Google from simply forking Chrome again? Maybe Chromium development could be broken off into a non-profit, but Chrome is just some Google branding on top of the open source Chromium.

It also happens every time it retries, so it spends most of the time doing nothing. Retrying after 60 seconds... Is that really normal? The downloads from reddit work fine, but if the upload doesn't work then I don't see
