It's worth mentioning here that maps inside China don't have this problem, Baidu Maps and Apple Maps (which uses Chinese map data when used in China) for example show accurate GPS position and correlation with satellite images. It

The Elliot 405 also didn't come with a keyboard. There was a panel of switches available for the original model... I'm sure you could get some sort of keyboard as an accessory for later models, but it certainly didn't come in

Mind, are you not worried at all that it may have taught you a lot... about how to make a language for writing compilers in? (paraphrasing Chris Lattner)

Your graphics on the home-page confused me into thinking that you are using Raspberry Pi's as the bridge (yeah, I didn't look carefully enough). But that would be a good idea as that could be easier than having to dedicate a phone

That seems to be more of a storage data centre. And if Wikipedia's figure of 60 megawatts is correct, it's well in the ballpark of a datacenter for Google or Facebook.

It's not that simple unfortunately. One concern I have is that the oscillatory motion of the drowning response is well within the range of cardiac rates (1-3Hz from the video). Pulse oximetry data is quite noisy and is especially affec

Costwise, I think that would be in the ball-park, if we can figure out what to monitor, and how, it could most likely be manufactured for <$10. I do work in this field (wireless vital signs monitoring) and unfortunately I don't know

Unfortunately that type would not work in a pool... they barely work with significant movement, never mind when there's water sloshing in and out between the LEDs / light sensors.

No, going from 1xN^2 to 2xN^2 to 3xN^2 and each further stacked layer from there on is still going to be a very major challenge (getting rid of heat being a very major physical challenge for a start). We're already 32 x N^2 for flash p

That's quite interesting as I have basically never seen a non-electric scooter here in Shenzhen. Almost seems like there might be some local regulation around that, but I have no idea. Even Amazon use electric scooters for delivery her

You can wish for a perfect world all you want, but any developer who wants to earn money with an iOS app knows that the basic version has to be free. If you like the app, pay the in-app purchase and be happy... It's pretty unfair to pu

Electric scooters (not fancy design ones like this but rather pedestrian-looking ones) are already completely ubiquitous in China, both for deliveries (including for 20kg water jugs, it's a bit disconcerting seeing a moped with 4 or mo

It's remarkable how much of an effort they're making to hide the screen resolution (which I suppose may vary depending on manufacturer, but doesn't appear to be part of the required spec?). The only one I could find was for t

I've just read the paper; it's academically very cool yet practically useless (at least for now). It uses 24GHz for RX, 60GHz for TX so retransmission is just a fantasy of the "journalist". It requires +45dBm output powe

You are quite correct, however Apple have very sensibly been very conservative in what accuracy of distance estimation they provide to apps. The only distance values provided are: CLProximityUnknown, CLProximityImmediate, CLProximityNear, C
