It depends. Socialism is one of the better alternatives for areas where markets function poorly, like healthcare.

You would think so but no. The inner wheel is the one that lifts.

Automobiles have 4 wheels. The geometry of the situation is very different. This is also why cars have differentials, because otherwise the car would be fighting against the turn. Basically when you turn your trike turns into a bike.

If you're trying to keep all of the wheels on the ground you're not using it efficiently. With trikes when you go around a curve the inner wheel lifts off the ground, especially as many trikes have solid rear axles. It feels sca

You do need to put cash in, sometimes quite a bit--so when you see that someone ran away with $1.4M be skeptical because at least some of the money they stole was their own.

Wash trades mostly, then it is just a matter of finding some suckers to bite before you pull the rug. $1.4M is a lot to you or me, but in the world of big money it is pocket change.

My impression was that the California utilities were being operated in revenue extraction mode for decades and prioritized paying shareholders over infrastructure maintenance leading to the crisis situation we are in today. The enormous co

> Running a 5-micrometer-technology chip at an 8-MHz clock rate caused it to dissipate a great deal of power—nearly 1.5 watts. So quaint in our era of 500w graphics cards.

That's going a little far. Apple and Valve do have costs to operating the storefronts. It's just that 30% is an overly big cut for what services they provide. Between Steam and Apple I think the case against Apple is generally s

Seems like it depends on the price point. These chips might be slow by modern standards, but if they're cheap enough then it doesn't really matter for a lot of the potential applications. I'm typing this post on a chip that

Ironically it would probably be safer if the helicopter crossed directly over the airport. At least then airplanes are usually on the ground, except for the cases where someone has to abort a landing and go around. Still dangerous, but it

I don't think IAD has the capacity to absorb the DCA traffic, at least not on a regular basis. Even if you include BWA I have my doubts that you wouldn't have to cut a bunch of flights due to gate or runway limitations.

That's kinda like saying a car is easy to build because they have automated painting robots. Fundamentally the problem is that most of the land they want to use is owned by someone else, and that means every single parcel is a potentia

Also fun to see dashcam video where someone jumps out in front of the car for the insurance claim, but the driver is too alert and stops before hitting them, only for the person to then throw themselves on the hood of the car while their fr

I've wondered this too. Even if it's only the rear camera all cars should have a few seconds of rolling buffer that they save whenever an accident is detected. At the very least if the airbags blow it should trigger the save. Y

In my car taking the headliner off involves removing 6 bolts (one in each pillar) and then popping out some retaining clips. I was surprised at how easy it was when I ran the wire to the rear camera. Headliners were notoriously difficult

You generally have to find someone willing to sell you a fleet vehicle if you want a full 8 foot bed. Modern trucks are more like minivans with a vestigial bed sticking out of the back.

All politics are local, which is a damn shame because the smaller the constituency the worst the politics are.
