While I like what I see in SASS and Compass. I'm afraid I won't be able to partake in the excitement as I code in PHP for my day job. And hack in Python during my spare time. Is there any equivalent out there?

That was a great quote. I guess no matter how much you know about the latest and greatest paradigms involved in the art of software. You can never truly become "perfect" if it does not become a part of yourself. And to extend that you can n

Upvote for iPython. The best implementation of the Python REPL I've seen so far.

Haha yes, I do remember those times. Now that you've mentioned it another language that fits the description of a Scheme-lite in Java-esque syntax is Lua.

Isn't this how you use closures? I think I've been doing this with my javascript code without even noticing it. :-)

What do you mean by this? Is this the same method of declaring inner functions within the scope of the outer function?

Whilst this is more pythonic I personally prefer Javascripts use of lambdas as more than a means of expression. More like a way of life for the language :-) And that is IMHO what makes it functionally closer to Scheme. Just looking at the w

The only time I see where Python will adopt a lambda that doesn't suck, is the day when the community itself embraces functional programming. At the rate that is going and from what I've read from the commenters of the article. I don't thin
