I feel like Reddit is a bad example for an argument against search, because it still relies heavily on search. People aren't finding a specific subreddit for their query and then browsing it until they find what they're looking fo

I'd rather have a billion dollars of art installments than another giant telescope. Or a billion dollars of art installments and a billion dollars of welfare, that'd still be much cheaper than the JWST alone. Are there any relativ

They're good counterexamples in they show solutions of the form "use technology" can work instead of "change the root behavior".

How could less regulation possibly help? Negative externalities need to be captured, how else can that be done but with more regulation?

I could maybe see saying the weight of some celebrity or other mutually-known person could actually cause anchoring, but yeah, that was a joke.

IMO that points to the problem being incorrect regulation, not too much or too little.

There's also Storygraph. Looks like both sites support exporting data from Goodreads, and Literal.club supports export from Storygraph. Storygraph is pretty good, the UI is a little wonky but I prefer it to Goodreads largely because it

Same. The image helps with a first and maybe last guess, and sometimes there's something highly identifying in the image, but triangulation would be enough if I could only accurately estimate distances. The scale on the map helps. It w

I'm not sure. I'm not an expert, but it doesn't seem that different from including public domain text and art in your game. I assume that, if it is true that Valve isn't allowing games with generated images, it's be

None of these can do text well. There's a model that does do text and composition well, but the name escapes me. And the general quality is much lower overall, so it's a pretty heavy tradeoff.

What's your thought process on malaria nets being vapid? It's not structural change, but (statistically) saving a life for ~$6k (I think that's their estimate? Or was at some point) is amazing, and very "real". I do
