Before Android took over the market crown, RIM held the market crown. Sure MS might not have a viable presence in servers, but if they are making more money doing it than anyone else... by definition, they are winning. They aren't going to

That's completely wrong. Yes, money is how you keep score. But no, just because Microsoft had a higher "score" (protip: microsoft won) doesn't mean that Apple's computers suck. Gruber is not saying that Apple makes more money than X, theref

So you're upset that Apple fans are claiming that Apple set out to make a lot of money instead of claiming they set out to make the best device? That sounds backwards to me.

I don't know why some people keep trying to compare Steve Jobs and Dennis Ritchie. One created an extremely successful, ubiquitous, and powerful programming language and OS. The other was a driven, successful, visionary, leader, and busines

CoffeeScript basically simplifies (and does a pretty good job, imo) existing JavaScript language features. Whereas, Dart adds classes and interfaces and a few other neat things. Admittedly, however, I do cringe whenever I see things like x.

That's a fair point, but it's pretty annoying when you read about some cool new language but you can't find any good sample code anywhere. anic and newspeak come to mind.

Gruber is saying that there is no grass in Moscone West, the west-most hall at Moscone Center. Where the majority of his time would be spent preparing for the keynote.

So I just read this piece.. and I dont know what the point of it was.. Other than to point out that the author made a wrong prediction, and to note that iOS and Android software handle different screen sizes differently. Seriously, did I mi

The sarcastic interpretation makes even less sense. Is the sarcastic interpretation 'I could care more' or 'I could not care less'? At any rate, it is definitely not interpreted as sarcasm today, nor is it spoken with any kind of inflection

I've been using a system like this for a while. It doesn't need to be as complex as this article suggests. Something like this would work fine: Get the domain name, take the first 3 letters, reverse it, replace each character with the chara

One of the main ideas behind CSS was to move style and design away from content. While this is a clever trick, it pollutes your CSS with application logic that should be separated from your design. - HTML for content and markup - CSS for de

Not once in his comment did he say anything even close to 'being more powerful'. Why did you interpret it that way? You appear to be confusing a well made point with something that was never said.
