   I learned Android first then iOS. You should really do both as in my experience, every client that has come to me wants an app on both platforms. To distribute on Google Play is a one off fee of $25. To be an official Apple Developer is $99

   I couldn't do it, I hate owing friends and family money; and I think they would be more annoying/demanding than a normal investor.

   You'll never get away with a 20k debt. That amount of money will end you up in court.

   I would say this is a good idea. Contracted workers in IT support etc have agencies find them work, why don't they do it for freelance devs?

   This is what I am doing and it is attracting work for me. My website has been up less than 2 weeks and I've already started building an app for my first client. My site is just a WordPress blog with pages for my Google Play store, LinkedIn
