Are there a lot of people who have the time and flexibility of schedules to go chasing down 911 calls in their neighborhood? I'm not heartless, I certainly open the front door and take a gander if I hear my dog barking or a loud noise

As a Washington DC resident, I will say I've read the post since around the late 1990's. Although it's never really been a beacon of fine journalism, it was a pretty dependable paper - lately though the articles have titles

It's interesting, but taken through some lenses, maybe that's still OK? I've never smoked, but I wonder if I'd like my doctor to be high when he operates on me, or for an armorer to reassemble my rifle while high. Does

I was a Marine in Iraq from 06-09. We constantly built plans for the inevitable demise of this dam. Mostly just estimates of how screwed people would be. I'm surprised it's not blown yet, I was constantly worried someone would b

In a perfect world, yes, the producer controls the amount created and the specified price of the product, but the article mentions that producers sometimes sell to one market for more than another. If the delta between these two costs is l

This negative article doesn't really qualify the statement that the world is getting worse - is it, really? And if the goal of an organization is to make the world better and they have a bad year (or many bad years), does that mean the

We are not OK with the NSA doing this and (theoretically) not viewing the data. We are OK with Facebook doing this and exploiting the data for monetary and market advantages.

In this case, the prosecutor was clearly wrong. But what is the flip side of this? If the client admits to the defense that he's guilty, are they bound to defend him, knowing that they're already in the wrong?

In short, and very simply - it means the nuke is smaller and more focused. From my time in combat zones - we always thought of tactical as the level at which a battalion or lower might operate. Strategic would be entire regiments or larger

If the average donation for an honorary degree was $68,854, would it make more sense for me to just forego the four years of effort and write a check for $70k in return for a degree? A masters is two years, so that's $35k per year. A P

I guess I'd be more interested in how this solution came to be, rather than a step by step of how to get there. What other methods did you try? What worked and what didn't? How did you solve the problems you came across? That b
