Definitely agree that it's easy to burn through the good streaming material and hit a roadblock where it's only worth checking news additions. I think in addition to that, there are certain people that still go online on Sunday/Monday to or

Back in High School I wanted to get a bit of IS experience, so I volunteered in the IS dept of a nearby hospital. Turned out, my job was to format all 10-20K of the old Windows95 installation floppies they had sitting around (this was 2000-

Mostly agreed (just speaking for myself) on your #1. Could not agree more on #2-4. Still, I'm a bit uncertain how Circles will pan out once G+ gains traction, but it's without a doubt more manageable than FB.

Not in a web device/timeframe combination to give this a proper look, but definitely like what I briefly had a chance to read. Already saved to revisit later. For anyone else that enjoyed this and is not aware of Parallel Sets: http://eage

Agreed. I've more or less stopped buying any new iOS apps. Having had an iPhone for just under three years now, I've basically found a solution for anything I care about using my phone for. However, I've noticed that I regularly hear about

My only-slightly-educated guess based off what I've read on this (read a few mentions of this story over the past week) is that while the child-sized trachea wouldn't just stop working/become disconnected, most likely there would be a later

Not to be a jerk, but if you're going to start offering opinions on evolution, at least get it right and not refer to the "Homo sapien" species.... it's the "Homo sapiens" species. Again, not trying to give you hard time, but at least for m

I'm not sure if it's simply coincidence, but I've noticed that while most new ATMs (in the US) are swipe only, it seems that on ATMs that allow deposits the machine retains the card. I'm not sure if there's a reason the card is retained for

I was OK with the MS deal, but now I am seriously reconsidering paying for my Sype #. I still use facebook on occasion for purely trivial/social reasons: birthday parties, holidays, checking to see if there are any random friends who serend

While I agree with your general sentiment (I love living in Cambridge, right between MIT and Harvard), it would be a mistake to get too wrapped up in tech and ignore what has historically and still is arguably Boston's greatest resource: te

Indeed, this is exactly my case: 10-100's GB of data distilled down to 1GB output at most, including extra diagnostics which are not always needed. One possible advantage for Amazon could be, at least in my use case, that I may be inclined

Well, technically you (the consumer) should be recording your Amazon purchases and paying the state your self-calculated sales tax. So, the rate does not change, only the responsibility for ensuring it is paid. That said, almost no one both

I agree, it seems silly not to pull the local stuff immediately. Of course, that doesn't exactly align with Google's goal of getting you to their site.

I'm not a regular Safari user, so I'm not 100% if this is true. But if I recall Safari doesn't return search results alongside the "most frequented sites" in autocomplete. Maybe pulling up likely searches from Google adds some time than the

One thing to bear in mind is that energy production is MUCH more efficient when done at scale (i.e. power plant) than having lots of little power plants (i.e. internal combustion engines). There's still the issue of transporting the energy,

That is a truly ridiculous chart. Another sign that it's complete BS is they describe the growth as "exponential" yet the trendline appears linear and the axis is not logarithmic. I think the author is conflating "exponential" with "really
