Since last Friday it’s felt like CC rolled back a year of progress. Not sure what to attribute it to, or what this article seems to be about but it _felt_ much dumber.

This is 100% the new bottleneck. We’re going to see a lot agentic QA, E:E testing, etc soon for this reason.

Because frameworks don’t have bugs? Or unpredictable dependency interactions? This is generous, to the say the least.

Basically, I want to set boundaries in a healthy frame of mind, and have that default respected when my self control is lower because I’m tired, depressed, bored, etc. “The algorithm” of social media is the opposite.

Yep. First thing I do for this kind thing is make a preview=true flag so I don’t accidentally run destructive actions.

The point is, if many 4-way stops don’t have traffic at them, a stop/start becomes a perfunctory, dangerous habit.

This is why the quality of my code has improved since using AI. I can iterate on entire approaches in the same amount of time it would have taken to explore a single concept before. But AI is an amplifier of human intent- I want a code base

Even as a technical person, when I wanted to play with running models locally, LM Studio turned it into a couple of button clicks. Without much background, you’re finding models, chatting with them, have an OpenAI-compatible API w/logg

When this happens to me it makes me question my design. If the AI doesn’t understand it, chances are it’s counter-intuitive. Of course not all LLM’s are equal, etc, etc.

I like this, but would note that each of this is effectively nagging you to do something. I wonder if the real unlock is moving the task forward in some way. “I know you were interested in X, and the research approach petered out, here and

You now own that project with all of the undiscovered bugs, missing features, and long term maintenance. Perhaps that’s a worthwhile trade, but you’re still bearing the cost in a different form.

Not OP, but my interest in Figma is that when a human designer needs to take over, UI/UX designers know Figma.

Nice work! How does it do applying styles from an existing codebase? We have style guides, strong base css, etc. If that was represented when it built in Figma, that could be interesting.

I like the concept, but density of the text and awkward UX are keeping me from engaging deeper. There should be one (and only one) obvious button to advance the flow at all times. For instance: * I took the “test” before realizing the topic

Agree. The colors need to be pulled back from the 100% saturation, and the body font size is too small.

LLMs can be incredible at cutting through misconceptions. I remember learning to code 20 years ago, and getting stuck building a mental model of a Hash. I remember being able to recite the definition verbatim, but I just couldn't put i

What human has better than “almost 100%” on a dull task they have to grind at for 3 days? Humans are terrible at that kind of long term focus, make clerical errors, etc.

Is this not the constant state of the world? A technology floods a market, the market finds a) the price floor and b) ways to curate If you’re a producer in that zone, you adapt or get minimized.

You’re missing the concept of session musicians that can improvise for hours. No license, flat fee.

▲

Not a conspiracy theory. Spotify hires session musicians (pre-AI) to pay a flat fee for hours of background music. Since many high volume Spotify users just want “something jazzy” in the background, it helps them reduce royalties.

This is especially true around NYC, SF, LA. The culture is built around accomplishment and work identity. Much less true in other places (e.g. Midwest), where community / taking care of others is valued.

Congrats on being launchable! I've written seed data scripts a number of times, so I get the need. How do you think about creating larger amounts of data? E.g., I'm building a statistical product where the seed data needs to be 1M

I remember a study where they shone light on the back of the knee to control for this. While I believe there are many benefits of being outside and exercising, there does appear to be specific benefits to sun-like UV exposure.

If I were 16, I’d be thinking I just made an obscene amount of money ($4,000!) messing with computers for fun, and got to meet people at a famous company. That’s a free car. Free computer. Uber eats for months. And my status with my peers a

This was how my daughter’s virtuoso violin instructor taught, after a lifetime of teaching. His method was to play alongside the student at 100x their skill level, pushing against their idea that it was too difficult. But they’d play it, at

Yeah, Tauri struck me as much more powerful and lighter than Electron. My hobby project with Tauri died when I managed to set an OS-wide shortcut, which is amazing. Except it broke many other apps, and I just never got back to it.

Looks interesting! How are you feeling about Tauri as you take this to a larger audience? I’ve dabbled with it and thought it was compelling, but not supported a release.
