I can testify to this, we use appcache for our HTML5 game and it massively improved load times. However, if you are going to use it, be absolutely sure you know what you are doing. There are easy ways to mess up and no going back if you d

What wasn't stable about 0.12? We've been running it in production since around April or May without any issues.

That isn't true. S3 has no bandwidth cost for incoming traffic, but it certainly does outgoing to the internet: https://aws.amazon.com/s3/pricing/ .

It may not be representative of the average page, but there are certainly ones that id does. When you load into our HTML5 game, you download over 1,000 PNG images on your first load. HTTP/2 is pretty exciting for us in that regard sinc

My main OS is OS X and this is where I've done the most testing, but we see similar performance degradation on Windows as well. We've tested on multiple Macs and Windows machines. It is almost as if no hardware acceleration is bei

It is not related to a specific platform, we've tested on many different computers and operating systems. We also get reports from users all the time saying the game is barely playable on Firefox but works great on any other browser th

This all sounds great, but I didn't see anything about simple HTML5 Canvas performance. Firefox is in dead last when it comes to the 2d rendering performance. I can run our HTML5 games at a smooth 60 FPS on Chrome, Safari, Opera and IE

Browsers are quite capable with HTML5 and WebGL these days. We've built an entire MMO with hundreds of thousands of lines of hard-coded Javascript that runs fantastically for tens of thousands of users (most players don't even kno

Probably not the best stance to take. You can build quality credit much faster than you might think just starting with a secured credit card. It is certainly worth paying ~$15 for.

Maybe they have changed (we still use PayPal and haven't had anymore issues), but on Thanksgiving day a few years ago, they completely shut us off with no warning. At least Stripe gave a week. They also said all of our funds (which at

It was actually based on a previous app (Luma) that did the same thing for several years prior. Instagram acquired Luma back in 2013.

When did you last use Mongo? We've been using it in production for 3+ years, and while there were certainly some issues early on, we've had nothing but success with it (especially over the last few major versions).

It is funny seeing this concept beginning to gain legs. A buddy and I were working on a concept for VR/AR laser-tag style locations for a college entrepreneurship class about 5 years ago. However, every entrepreneur they brought in to

I feel like the vast majority of people that bash on MongoDB didn't fully understand it and what it was good for when they tried it. We've been using it in production for nearly 3 years in online games and have had nothing but goo

Why wouldn't gaming be a key usage? On iPhone alone it is a multi-billion dollar industry. I think gaming could be one of the big driving forces moving forward once they get serious about Apple TV. Give it a few years for the processin
