You know how easy it’s become to find security vulnerabilities already with LLM support? Cyber terrorism is getting more dangerous, you can’t deny that.

I… don’t agree with this at all.The bottleneck of offshoring was always in the other parts of the job, not code generation. It was in communication and feedback, and product and customer needs.

All the developers you’re talking to are in more senior positions which are the safest of all. High paid engineers barely write any code anyway, their job was _already_ abstracted beyond the grunt work. So, when they talk about moving on to

The hallucination problem has dropped exponentially in recent times in code generation. I can’t even recall a time any of the modern models I’ve used have done it in my recent usage. It’ll still do it in cheap/fast models and in places

If it is it shouldn’t be. There are more important needs for mental health support right now

And it didn’t stop Fermi from achieving incredible things so, did it matter all that much? They’re just complementing each other dude

It’s like you read my entire post in bad faith. Try again, this time actually reading the words I wrote, and I might consider it.

I mean I can make up any speculation too if you want. I seriously seriously doubt your claim. It’s extremely extremely rare to find “3-4 hours of maths textbook reading” levels of enthusiasm in 7 year olds. I don’t doubt he’s talented too.

Good for you. Those people likely didn’t have a true enthusiasm to learn the content, they just stressed and tried to cram themselves by. Kinda proves my point really.

3 year olds are a terrible choice because that’s confounded by developmental timelines varying in children. I.e. you may as well find a child that can walk at 11 months old and compare them to one that can’t and declare that one must be so

Of course the dogs input matters, it matters to the fun of this project. Would’ve been way less fun otherwise.

You could but it would be a hugely inefficient system. Like, just address an actual need dude. Most saas isn’t limited by the code behind it anyway. That almost doesn’t matter, even before LLMs. It mattered that there’s support, customer on

If you’re lumping this project in with the rest, you’re just as stupid as someone who believed the singularity would be here by now. Pretty obvious the whole time that it’s just another tool for now, but that that tool has real value.

Hah! If your point is that art isn’t creative or that all art is useless, you’re really signing yourself up for quite the battle. I would reevaluate your motivations here.

I really recommend you try LLMs again if you haven’t, the last part is really becoming less and less true every day. But I 100% agree that this does not pose a risk to the software developer for all the other points you mentioned. It will j

I’m not missing anything. Customers getting what they want earlier is a good thing. If the product is flawed, it will be outcompeted by a product that is better designed for customers. You’re sidestepping like crazy my dude

And I say good. Coding and application development being more accessible is a good thing. Technological advancement usually takes the form of taking something that used to be hard and socialised and making it easy and accessible. In the lon

Brilliant. You can already see the HN users in here with emotional attachment issues who are sad because of the issues you talk about, and it’s causing them to bury their heads in the sand. It’s going to be a hard transition, but we can’t p
