Not sure what culture you are from, but in Poland at least I have almost never heard girls (or anyone!) say anything particularly bad of that sort to boys, but I sure have heard said a lot to girls. There's definitely still a strong &#

The point is we've identified gender is used to knock people down a lot, that this particular angle seems to have little basis in fact, and so are trying to make people aware to stop this particular angle. If we find more systematic wa

You are happier to have your resources stolen and not be aware of it (it's invisible, you can't see what's happening and react - right?) than to be shown an annoying thing which is very much in your awareness? I don't kn

Bombadil was the name of a doll in Tolkien's home. That's why he was the "oldest", because the name predates the book itself. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Bombadil

If users want equivalencies then they shouldn't use quotes, which are for exact match. Let's not play semantics here. Search syntax is clear - put things in quotes, get 'exact match' in return. Equivalent words are not e

On Google, at least a few years ago and back, when you put a query "X" you were guaranteed to see X in the HTML contents of the page. Or at least I can't remember getting a result that didn't satisfy that condition. Now

I don't know about links, but the phenomenon of getting results for a query like: A "B" with no B on the page has been particularly disturbing for some time. At least months, maybe longer, I can't say. I have no idea why

Maybe you missed the point of the article. The author is describing a common issue where people have lots of ideas, plan them out in their heads and get the reward in form of pleasure (anticipation of success, power, beauty, anything). They

As if democracies aren't buying votes already en masse?! Lobbying is just that, on a scale that actually matters more (directly at policy decision making point).

I would rather the browser protect me from all popups, and only enable such a "feature" by specific request. I did set what you mention now, but my point is, why isn't it the default, and why is it so hidden (e.g. there are m

Fielmann is a German brand available in several European countries, but I'm not sure if they make their own eyewear. Still, I can't imagine paying 1000 USD for a pair of glasses. In Poland 100 EUR gives you a decent pair, 200 EUR

Hm. I interpreted it as being aware of where i am in activity, how I do parts of it, kind of trying to do it well and recognizing where i am in the process. Mindfulness to me would be just To continually bring awareness to whatever I feel,

There's a bigger story hidden behind the achievements of memory champions. The groundbreaking result from the past few decades is not that there is a way for a human to memorize a thousand numbers, or that a particular method of memori

I don't fully follow the prefix thing. So a scammer makes a call from a number that's a prefix of my number? That doesn't affect 2FA, that won't show up as "me" on my friends' phone screens when they call,
