Shouldn't it be forced to store gas for future use instead if burning it? Underground storage wouldn't be that expensive and we will probably need that gas at profitable prices in the next 20 years.

Thorium is not a fuel that could be use alone, you still need an enriched uranium: http://ieer.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/thorium2009fac... So thorium reactors will still have some problems similar to uranium reactors.

Thorium has an enormous potential, but R&D + regulations cost will be huge. In case of the nuclear energy, they were covered partly by military, but that would not be the case for Thorium. I would be extremely happy, if instead of payin

I think it is more about being able to listen on a port instead of active polling. Anyway, I doubt it will have a significant impact on battery life.

Agree, but cost of rebuilding cities is huge and jumping from 1 to 3 story are much higher than building 4-9 story buildings near the transportation hub.

Well that's true, but the article already points that taking a few % drivers out of roads could make a huge difference. See: http://www.ted.com/talks/jonas_eliasson_how_to_solve_traffic... You don't need anywhere 500$, most likely 2-5$ to

Great vision, but building higher building is very controversial in peninsula. That blocks transiting from car culture to more urban environment. E.g.: Proposal of ~ 8 floors high buildings in Palo Alto near the Caltrain. http://www.paloal

Dynamic pricing might be a good solutions (with reasonable maximal prices). However, it would be hard to introduce them because of public pressure.

Kickstartes is absolutely amazing. Any 3rd party statistics of project deliveries after they were funded? Delays are common, but they are acceptable (at least for me), but I wonder how much actually never delivered anything close to the pro

Great project! The only minor thing that disturbes me are a few well-known logos (Atlassian, GitHub) beyond "Thank you". I know it is a grey area of ethics, but perhaps we should encourage to put real partners (clients, etc.). If you quickl

I would love to see mosh-like solution, but client only. Pretty much a wraper to ssh which will use screen plus some predictions. I guess it could get 80% of mosh benefits without the hassle of deploying new software on servers.

I would expect that serving huge static files is a best use case for CDNs and that is where you could score major performance gain. Moreover, IMO dealing 100 ms latency for ability to survive HN/reddit traffic is a good trade-off.

In real world the statistics is usually the most useful part of math. Analysing data without some basic statistics lead often to erroneous conclusions. What surprise me, that it doesn't get attention it deserves at pre-university education.
