To your point, there were many wars with gold/oil being the main motive. However, I hardly can remember any wars where coal resources was the main motive. Both are fossil fuels, but one is more precious than the other.

Anything can provoke war. Abundance of rare resources would rather make wars less likely than lack of resources and fighting over them.

Anyway, the trend to have include some green plants in buildings is very positive to me. Not everything has to be made just from steel, concrete and glass.

aria2c is absolutely awesome for dev ops. A lot of regular download clients got problems if you have 1000+ servers downloading 100MB+ and hit a lot of stragglers. I find aria2c very reliable and performant comparing to other client.

Maybe store it in electric car batteries? The ppl already buying Tesla Model 3 at scale. Why utilities should pay for storage, when they could just offer cheaper electricity when there is excess of it. E.g. charge your car when we told you

Great idea, but even with optimistic assumptions it will require a lot of capital. Something in order of SpaceX $100 mln to get first commercial plane.

I am a big fan of Meteor, evangelize it for free and this makes me angry. 1. Many of free sites are demo sites of their packages and tutorials. This would hurt the ecosystem. 2. Two week notice before shutting down is way too short. Should

The problem you mention is real, but first come first served is an easy solution. That also solve the order problem. That encourage you to submit transactions earlier in time slot (as you get more chance to complete them). Still there is so

Autonomous and shared vehicles works more in favor of electrical than combustion engine: 1. Autocharging is a trivial feature to implement. Charging times and range matter less. 2. In Uber/Lyft you don't chose car, but your provid

I haven't used HackerRank, but got experience with similar product Codility ( https://codility.com/ ). My experience: 1. Works great if engineers apply to you, much less if you try to poach a engineer from great company.

Looks misleading to me. Scala code spawns real threads while Go code uses go routines. If we want to compare apple to apples, we should use thread pool shared across Scala actors: http://stackoverflow.com/a/1597942/
