I actually couldn't tell if it was intended to be a joke, a trolling, or perhaps the rantings of a lunatic. Putting in stuff like "federated bodies of the internet" and the "empire of LinkedIn" makes it seem like i

When I was younger and much more stupid, I told a joke once that in hindsight was homophobic. I in no way every considered myself homophobic whatsoever and it was just pure stupidity and thoughtlessness on my part. I was at a party and my

I kinda agree, a PR person of all people should be held accountable for making a terrible joke that comes off as racist. The problem is just the reaction of a mob of arm chair vigilantes thinking they are each delivering some unique tiny bi

Seems to be the way they have been moving for a while on the productivity apps. Now only iMovie and iTunes are left. It would be pretty ballsy (even for Apple) to drop the i and call the iPhone simply "Phone"!

The example is a little bit exaggerated, but basically if you have a major medical problem with huge bills, the insurance companies will look for a ways to get out of paying. It may not be right or even legal, but the process of disputing c

Your mention of exceptions to the GPL is probably what the OP was talking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-licensing It might be a little tricky in the case of GPG since it is really a GPL port of the commercia

Nice work, clean looking. There is something to be said for a simple but useful app. I were going to ask for one more field, I'd like to see a field for the task owner (could just be simple text) at which point I think it would defini

It's nothing new, but this mindset can sneak up on you if you are not diligent. It rarely is so simple as A, B & C. As your software is evolving and improving, you could get off track on features that seem reasonable. It's ha

Since the article you point to is about programming then I'd assume your asking about the technical side of things rather that actually acquiring 5-10k users (which is very difficult). It's an interesting question, but as you have

You can kinda tell when a process is designed around fraud prevention, rather than being designed around user experience. Big companies make big targets and so they naturally become more risk averse.

I'm not at all surprised to learn of bots cruising github looking for keys. I think a good lesson is that if you ever accidentally expose your API key - revoke or delete them immediately and generate new key.

I've used an app called Air Display to do the same thing for quite a while, but instead of USB it connects over WiFi - which is convenient, but the refresh rate is slow. I used it mainly to have my chat client on a 3rd screen.
