I'm surprised the great firewall doesn't block github. There are bound to be github pages hosting information on Chinas government actions.

You can't with any sincerity believe that. A troll hanging day and night outside a factory parking lot posting absolute crap on twitter is not in any way useful to anyone. The guy was a nut case with some Moby dick like obsession. I ca

I highly recommend watching the presentation. It's quite a deep dive into their entire plan including solving the world model problem.

I do. Media circus aside Musk has a reputation of delivering working solutions to hard problems. If they still had Chriss Latner heading Autopilot I'd be skeptical, but they have Andrej Karpathy who is a god when it comes to machine le

The tweet was refering to people who make it their life's mission to try and make Tesla fail like shabooshka, the guy literailly lived at the factory taking photos. Not people being critical or disagreeing with what they do.

It's awesome watching the race play out. It very much does look like at this point that Tesla are on a spint to the finish line while everyone else took a wrong turn near the start following Google.

Seems like a neat project to get auto-steer driver assist going on a car that supports it. It's basically a Tesla Autopilot 1 ( Mobileye ) mod.

I know very little about shares. How does an IPO close lower on it's first day? Wouldn't someone have to have bought in at $45 and sold for lower in the same day? Why would anyone do this?

Arse Technica is a vortex of hate, purposely mind you. Twitter and Reddit are good as long as you use the Mute/block buttons to weed out the crap from both sides.

They both look good to me. Ford is taking all the right steps to transition while keeping their current product relevant. Tesla has a clear path forward, they are just raising to start Model Y, Semi and Pickup production.

Asia is doing a fantastic job with EVs. I really like what Hyuandai did with the Ioniq, they kept it simple and reasonable. I'd love to see more of the same from other manufacturers. Tesla will always be a media circus company unfortun

They are raising capital to tool up for the Model Y, Semi and Pickup assembly lines as planned. Q2 is going to be a positive quarter as the only reason Q1 fell short was missed deliveries from cars in transit to Europe and China.

lol, good luck to them tracking and censoring. We'd have an underground encrypted mutating network protocol in hours running, not much the Chinese government could do to stop it short of cutting access from outside China again. Thanks

Ditto, it's great. It makes me do things with extra polish and put thought on delivery. It's by no means no longer fun, in facts its more so. It's like playing a tycoon sim. The project has to finance itself or die.

This makes sense with GF3 coming online so quickly. The original plans to keep expanding GF1 may not be needed if GF3 can do it better and more cheaply.

Its too late for them. No one would trust their business to a company with a reputation of closing down services for no reason or worse yet entire business accounts with no ability appeal.

Damaging? Its very clear the damage is done. I thought the whole point of Alphabet was to try and hide the Google brand so customers trust to use it.

That would certainly make sense. A huge benefit would be it would make it a lot easier for the cars to co-ordinate which lanes they should be in to maximise road throughput.

Good work by the researchers. I'm sure Andrej Karpathy and team are already working hard on improving this part of Autopilots neural network. Most of the updates seem to show the system is memorising things it sees at a distance and bu

Bit late in the game isn't it? Need to lock down battery supply and probably pay MAGNA to build it which would eat into profit margins.

Completely if you want to. You can disable the mobile data and disconnect it from wifi. If you want the updates you MUST be connected somehow. You can get a copy of the videos via USB.
