Work on side projects or get a second dev gig while you wait for upstream to do things.

M1 is still new tech that is hit and miss with anything not from the walled garden. There's not enough interest to fix/develop for it.

Kodi is for power users, Plex is for anyone who just wants a place to host their media collection.

Kodi is fantastic. Nothing really comes close to how good it is. Definitely not for your grandma though.

Nah, the golden era is long behind us. Every site looks exactly the same using all the same bloated libraries, bootstrap CSS and hosted on the same 3 cloud providers. Gone are the days of instant load 20kb sites or quirky flash marvels host

You more or less described how Apple hype works. The M1 is fast like a Ferrari, it's expensive and nice in the brochure but you can't take it many places in real life let alone use more than 20% of its potential.

We still have this kind of comedy today and its very lucrative for the studios that aren't playing the PC/woke games. Book of Mormon and South Park especially come to mind.

By those definitions so is the dollar and real estate yet here we are. As far as I'm concerned cryptos are backed by cocaine and at a much higher tangible rate than fractional banking the dollar is.

When the project is done will Linux running on an M1 have any advantages over just running Linux on a regular x86_64 system?
508.
by jaimex2 5y ago
True, though being wrong has never stopped a legal threats and action in the past. They can just bully a small project out of existence.

by jaimex2 5y ago
Somewhat, I don't think its a direct target but some people tend to parrot what they see on social media so indirectly it ends up here.
