How often do you tell people no? I find it pretty common to get a visceral reaction when I disagree with people, and that's even after spending years working on delivering that disagreement in more friendly ways, both professionally an

Sorry to hear that. I've been crushed in very similar ways. I'm certain you'll bounce back. In the meantime, remember there's more to life than work, and you have more to offer the world than just the products you produc

I have pushed production apps in php, go, .net, java, and j/ts. Touched some Django and Rails along the way. For fun I have played with elixir and more I can't think of at the moment. I'm personally never as productive and ha

Based on my understanding of the story in the post, Mitnick asked the CEO to read back the number he gave the CEO earlier that day. I don't disagree it's likely all bullshit, but if you're going to post snarky, nitpicking com

Ugh... I am a very precise communicator, and my wife --- Not so much. I love her dearly, but I cannot count the number of times I have enraged her by asking her to elaborate or seeking clarification about a pronoun or some other vaguery by

I think you're spot on. I have a journalism + mass communications bachelor's, but only because I dropped out of the CS program -- too much math. Once I had mouths to feed, I couldn't make it work financially as a journalist,

I do exactly what you described and indicated that clearly in my post. What I'm perturbed by are the people who take it to extremes, and are happy to spend hours a week tweaking things, and can't fathom someone else might not enjo

I'm a vim user, but only because of the keybinds. I use VS code an equal amount because I often get too frustrated trying to wire the disparate vim tools. The never ending fiddling and 30-step process to get the equivalent of one click
