> Employers can make provisions that you’re not allowed to moonlight in other positions. Not in California. Only company executives can be bound by such agreements. Direct competition is of course prohibited.

I suspect you’re right. I very much enjoyed the Magic Mouse but had similar issues with wrist discomfort. The neutral position of the human wrist is vertical - thumb pointing up as if shaking hands with someone. The Magic Mouse is so low-pr

Quick back of the envelope calculation based on FEC data for 2022 says that SBF’s $40m donation accounted for about 0.03% of Democratic-aligned PAC donations. PACs across the political spectrum raised over $7bn and spent over $6bn.

If we scale-down Madoff’s 150 years for $18bn to SBF’s $8bn, he’s looking at 66 years.

Holmes was only found guilty on 4 of 11 charges, totalling around $300m raised from investors. SBF is guilty on all counts of stealing 26 times more than that - $8bn of his customers deposits.

It does make me wonder if the fact that people feel this way says something about how much cognitive effort is consumed by error handling and that it might be disproportionate.

No, nobody is interested in de-anonymising, it’s not useful. To target, say a car ad all that is needed is to know that cookie 1234 is interested in buying a sports car, and when that cookie is encountered, serve it a sports car ad.

This doesn’t seem to be the problem here? It’s an issue of having a combinatorial number of versions to test when upgrading software and firmware.

I’m surprised more people don’t know about this - the US government promoted great hunting expeditions for this very goal. That said, 90% of native people died from diseases before any of this happened.

It’s true! The video of the misfiring rocket that’s now been published by all the big media outlets was doing the rounds on X within a few hours of the event. A newsletter published today should not be “both sides”-ing the issue.

The claim about airburst weapons seems like a massive reach. The tops of the palm trees are unscathed, the nearby buildings have more lower than upper windows blown-out. But if they didn’t make this claim they’d have ruled out all Israeli w

This is a terrible analysis. Many of the basic observations are wrong - photos from other angles contradict them. Most importantly, a car bomb would blow the doors clean off and scatter debris from the vehicles in a radius nearby. There’s n

No a company cannot begin winding up without reaching an agreement with its creditors - the winding up process is a de-facto admission of insolvency and the company needs to declare bankruptcy and the creditors get first dibs on the assets.
