+1 for finally getting in. From what you write, it seems to me that you got into YC at a point when knew the game quite well. The learning was in getting in. So what's your take away from all of it? Is it the YC network and the resourcefuln

I'm not an expert on this, but each file occupies a minimum area on the disk, called a block. Now depending on the block size and the number of files, it's easy for 300KB of data to occupy 60MB space on the disk. eg. 100,000 files of 1 byte

Don't mean to ask something personal, but curious to know how much you sold it for. A relative figure in % to your yearly pay before would be fine too.

The problem is, working with a startup has so far meant giving up my life - and just working 24x7. Not a healthy trend, but I don't know of a startup that works otherwise. I believe I'm not very comfortable telling my boss - "I can't do thi

Was the work or workload any different at your next job? How did you manage everything for 2 years without work? Also, I've had three < 1 year stints in my 4 year career already, and this would be another one if I cut loose. I don't wan

Yeah. If I was James Cameron, I'd have better things to be excited about - like Avatar 2 - than to be looking forward to speaking at TED. The ones who have it all, don't really need it

Anyone can apply to become a TED fellow ( http://www.ted.com/pages/view/id/247 ). A couple of people I know personally have been past fellows. Going by what I've seen, it may be easier to become a TED fellow than to be selected for Y Combin

My point is, why would NASA employ him as a Group Leader if he were, dare I say, delusional? There's got to be some truth in it.

The author of the published paper in question is the Astrobiology Group Leader at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center ( http://spie.org/x17397.xml ) Why would he risk his career and put his reputation at stake?

Wow. Indeed, it is a bit confusing. A much better way would be adding a small label at the top. But I'm afraid the whole UI will become cluttered with several "small labels" creating a WTF UX :(

grep-four-two is how I pronounce it too. I feel its neither cliched nor easily comprehensible yet sort of catchy once you're used to it. Its not something anyone would relate to at first; but its an opportunity, a differentiator, an empty c
