No, you just head into the UEFI Bios and turn secure boot of. No rooting required here (besides its not being the right phrase).

by jagermo 13y ago
Yes, I agree (although you cannot really blame Microsoft for this). But, to be honest, someone who is able to install Linux should also be able to roam through the Bios (which he/she should do anyway to check the settings, e.g. confirm the

You forget to mention that secure boot can be disabled. And that there are Linux distributions that can handle secure boot. To quote the Linux Foundation: "Linux and other open operating systems will be able to take advantage of secure boot

plus, I think you don't take the "getting the idea checked if it really could fly" part of a kickstarter campaign in account.

This is so important. Online research can do a lot of good, but it is so easy to get carried away. I'm impressed by what reddit and 4chan and all the others found, but taking action is the job of cops.

I think I phrased myself wrong. For me it is not an investment (as in: Buy now get rich), but more a experiment or plaything. I'm just not sure if I shouldn't wait another month or to for the BTCs to get drop again. On the other hand, they

I agree. Ender's Shadow (the story of Bean) is also ok, but Card gets a little to deep into religion for my taste.

Well, the cards are basically just a stand in for a decent discussion, right? In the PyCon case, she could have turned around, handed over a card, the guys would have gotten the message and maybe would have had a discussion afterwards. And

These cards have been distributed at least at Defcon for a few years, and they worked pretty good afaik. I think it should help preventing stuff like that.

Ah, ok, thank you. I'm probably spoiled by Defcon, where there is a strict "No Pictures if you don't ask" policy.

I'm a little confused, what about privacy laws? Yes, you are at a conference, but that doesn't give anybody the right to take your picture and post it on twitter, without asking your permission, right? (Sorry, German here, so if the laws in

good luck, i think there is enough room for a decent gaming site (RPS is living proof). Just don't get sucked into "we need to give xx percent", that normally ruins the site.
