Reader YC on BlackBerry . Works like a charm, not just on the go but while getting the little one to sleep.

well modern as in "web based". It's not really uplink (i loved the use of different nodes to hide yourself) but it looks like a fun pasttime that take the hacking scenario seriously.

please do this. I just signed up (sorry for the additional load) and it looks fantastic. Reminds me of Uplink in a modern setting. Plus, as a dad of a 4 month old, this looks like the perfect pasttime when the small one wakes up in early mo

Installed it under Windows 8.1, got several BSOD and restarts. Looks awesome, but it made my system highly unstable.

Fun fact: Ghostery tells me, this article is framed by 67(!) trackers. Yes. Online anonymity is hard. One reason are morons who sell out their users to every tracking vendor with a little cash at hand.

I run a similar setup, it provides VPN access for me (mostly to secure connections in public wifis) and runs a TOR node. As you said, it is cheap, power consumption is ok and it is ready to go after you plug it in.

I've already checked out webhook, looks great. However, I run my sites on my own server. Are you planning to offer a version that you can install on your own hardware?

I find the static blog movement extremly interesting. You'd think with broadband and speedy mobile connectins like LTE it wouldn't matter so much, but those blogs load so amazingly fast, it's just fantastic. I'm thinking

This kind of attack has been around for some time, but so far you needed a special, programmable chip for that. And yes, it can attack nearly every OS, including Linux. Check out this for more information: https://github.com/

And, of course, no love for BlackBerry OS 10. Foursquare had a great native integration and now just dumps all BB-Users. Why do companies do that?

Interesting. Did you see that they replaced the Google App Store with their own? That means an additional revenue stream from app purchases. Clever

Paypal has fairly high transaction fees, as they mention in the article. If you pay one euro for an article, 40 cents go to paypal. Don't get my wrong, paypal is awesome for other stuff, but not for microtransactions

Damn. I wish this was native on the blackberry. I could emulate it, but SMS support wouldn't work - and I am not sure if emulating a secure system really is the way to go.

I like Opera a lot, especially on the road with crappy internet connections. You are right, I should switch on the desktop, too.

On a related note, this sub-page [0] shows you, which camera models embedd their info into pictures taken. Just, you know, if you take pictures of sensible stuff or don't want to be connected to photos taken. [0] http://www.

6) if you go to a public WiFi point, leave your phone at home. 7) On the way there do not fill up at a gas station, do not use the subway with an identifying pass. 8) Thwart cameras, try to disguise yourself, but in an inconspicuous matter.
