Yes, this was my point, but not articulated as well. I think it would be hard to expect compensation for the expenses when coming to the office, when the savings (for them) by working from home aren’t also passed onto us.

I wonder if workers, at some point, will be able to start demanding compensation for commute to work, when there it is perfectly possible to work from home? E.g. these tech companies that are starting to require employees to return to offic

Would this suggest that having background noise on in your home (e.g. music, TV, podcast, etc.) is beneficial? Our home is generally pretty quiet. I occasionally listen to music, but we only have the TV on when we're actually watching

For sure, a lot of the things you're describing boils down to the flexibility -- as a perk -- you get from working from home. But I believe it's the flexibility that make it hard for people to mentally disconnect -- it blurs the l

I believe there's still a mental separation you get from having separate physical spaces for work life and personal life. E.g. there are times that I do break the rule (very rarely) and get on my work computer (e.g. download work docum

I’ve been working from home 100% for going on 10 years. I’ve had a mix of experiences re: disconnecting from work, and three things that I believe are key: 1. Work out of a separate office, ideally with a door. Don’t go in that room except

I’ll give you reliable, but how is emailing photos to yourself for 20 years easy? I mean I guess sending emails is relatively easy, but doing that for every photo you want to keep — for 20 years — sounds like a ton of manual effort.
