Sort of related, but we used to be completely free of cable, satellite, and streaming for a time, just using OTA antenna picking up all major local networks (covering ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, among a number of smaller networks). We had DVR s

I mean, sure if you’re comparing a 5-star first party review to a 4-star third party review. But nobody should be doing that sort of comparison anyway — that is, cross-site review comparison. If I’m looking at first party reviews, I’m compa

> I can't fathom why anyone would use downvoting as disagreement That’s often one of the primary uses of downvoting. Here or anywhere else that has downvoting on discussions. What would you use it for? E.g. inappropriate content or

Yes. Of course, each org is different, and some orgs still might expect growth at L4, even if growth = “approaching L5”. But some orgs may be fine with terminal MI (~CME) L4s.

Other than sometimes not understanding what I’m calling my devices (mostly lights, and mostly because I don’t have them named consistently), my Google Home devices work just fine. I keep seeing articles about complaints with Alexa, but we u

Yeah, sort of, except Brik-a-Bloks allow you to build enclosed structures, so it feels more like a fort. But Quadro would still allow you to use sheets, etc. to complete the fort look.

Sort of related, we bought for our kids when they were young a set of Brik-a-Bloks. [1] They’re basically plastic 2x2 tiles that can be assembled into almost any structure you can think of (limited by the number of tiles you have). They (we

Unfortunately the comment:upvote ratio will trigger (has already triggered?) the flamewar detector. I’d love to see more discussion on this (aside from the quality of the article itself), as it’s something I’ve always felt needs to be figur

Amazon is great for buying products I already know I want. Prices are reasonable, shipping couldn’t be much faster (in my area), with Prime anyway. And it’s usually fairly easy to go directly to a known product (by name or model). Also thei

FWIW, with that downside (and really that plus the range are the biggest two downsides), these are by far outweighed by the upsides. It is practically zero maintenance, so much more fun/pleasant to drive, and no more trips to the gas s

The range on my EV6 is noticeably less in the cold. It feels like I get 0.5-1.0 fewer miles per kWh when temperatures are around freezing (roughly 15-30% less). On our last couple of trips in freezing temps, we had to hop on backroads so th
