That’s exactly what I did, and it seemed to do a good job of hitting the main points in about 13 minutes (which is much quicker than how long it would take a slow reader like me read this article). I’m sure it still didn’t do the article ju

That’s what I was wondering — even if you sped up a realistic capture from space, wouldn’t it still just look like stars moving at about the same speed? There might be small variances in velocity, but it seems like not near to the extent we

Can I hijack this thread for an almost completely unrelated question that I have observed in nearly every simulation of movement in space, even from sources like NASA and SpaceX which “should know better”? And I’m mostly asking this out of

I’ve been WFH 100% (aside from the occasional 1-week remote offsite) for over 10 years. I will always want to work somewhere that is at the very least supportive of distributed teams, if not remote-first. I also chime in on HN articles like

I’m just surprised they hold up to non-EV vehicles at a similar angle/speed. At 45 degrees, seems like most ICE cars would fly through them too, except for some of the more compact ones. But especially SUVs and trucks.

The test seems to be sending the EV into the guardrail at a 45 degree angle, moving straight ahead. Is this common for guardrail collisions? Granted, it’s ideal if they can withstand that angle of impact, but I’m trying to understand the re

I did this as a prank a long time ago to a friend. He couldn’t log in, and I think it took us a while to figure out how to change it back without being able to log in. Or maybe he found the Dvorak mapping and logged in using Dvorak and chan

I still think that what’s even sillier than QWERTY is the fact that the keys are angled up to the left on both sides. Sure this (sort of) makes sense for your right hand, but the left hand does not naturally fit the keys going in that direc

My guess is the two lanes merging into one are only getting one lane. That is, only one lane is added after the merge, and both overpass lanes are merging into the one new lane. But if there are indeed being two lanes added due to the merge

I mean, when I played some NES games, I might hear the same level loop for 30 minutes before I hear the next level. My brain can’t compute hearing the song from a level for only one loop. :)

We must have played different games/consoles. Maybe your reference point is Atari 2600, in which case I’d agree with you. But NES/SNES, and other consoles that followed are far from “torture”. I’ve gone back and played — and enjoy

On the EV6, there's a paddle behind the steering wheel that you can use instead of the brake pedal that will use 100% regenerative braking. I use that almost exclusively, only using the brake pedal when I don't brake soon enough a

A big selling point for EVs, for me, was much lower maintenance. No brake disc/pad replacements, no oil changes -- or any fluids! -- and no trips to the gas station. Mostly just tire rotations/replacements. Hybrids still require r
