These days, about the only liquid you can consume without controversy is water. Some say coffee is good for you (in moderation), some say it's bad for you. Some say certain alcoholic drinks are good for you (in moderation), some say no

I'm not sure why this is FP news. I knew "1/2" was being interpreted as "January 2" as soon as I saw the title. This is nothing new, or even particularly interesting -- Excel (and Sheets) have been doing this d

One quality of “tribal” that I think gets overlooked is that those that are part of a “tribe” are not willing to be wrong. I feel like those that are more in the middle - in addition to be “accidentally in the middle” as pg says — they’re o

I think this got caught by the flamewar detector. :( I like reading discussion on this topic. Not that I've ever seriously considered this, but still interesting to read about.

Nice site! One bit of feedback I don’t see mentioned. This may be an iPhone thing, but my experience is that the visuals are about a quarter beat ahead of the audio (at 60 BPM, so about 200-250ms off). Not a big deal, but definitely enough

I’m not arguing either side. Just saying that the meta discussion is a discussion that the guidelines try to discourage. IOW, it’s not really relevant to the article, so it’s not promoting curious, interesting discussion. So both this discu

This still doesn’t explain one of my biggest peeves with keyboards: Why are the keys angled up and to the left — for both hands? Was this to solve the type bar jamming? Or is that also an urban legend? I know there are modern keyboards th

This feels more like a feature, not a bug. Local communities all operate in the same time zone. No reason small online communities couldn’t operate in the same time zone, allowing each time zone to have their own separate communities.
