I'm quite interested in what the two of you have created - the reason being that I have a history in digital imaging as well. I'm not a big fan of Air (the Adobe kind), but what you've accomplished with it is impressive and I look forward

I think you'll likely get a lot of biased answers in here, and here's mine: Django. I've had great success with nginx (load balancing, static serving) -> apache/wsgi/django (dynamic). Have a local postfix email server that handles the

In fact, I think the best method is to get your own domain, set up Google Apps for you domain. Then you can set the catch all address, and for every website you need an email address for, you use <website>@<yourdomain>.com

It won't fool all of them, but for the ones who haven't got somewhat more sophisticated spider-bots, it will. Cutting down on spam is almost as good as eradicating it - in the sense that it's damn near impossible to eradicate it anyhow.

Admittedly, I'm a tech-head. I've used Drupal in the past (it's still in use on my personal site) for various projects. When a colleague introduced me to Django, I felt a light click on; I smacked my forehead and said to myself: "Gosh. Squ

I think you'd have the same trouble with the automated way. The doohicky that does it would have to be programmed to be catered to you, I should think - particularly if you have a sensitive stomach. I've known a few people in your situatio

A surprising number of workplaces still do not understand the concept of accountability - I can say that they are frustrating places to work. I agree with the original poster; there is no better way to get your goals accomplished than by pu

Wayyyy too many options in this poll. The idea of a poll is that a relatively quick glance will get you answers, not a 'bounce'. On the topic, however... I think it will be destructive to online business, from what I've read on it. I'm al

When I first started using Django, I wasn't sure about it either, for a few different reasons - but performance wasn't one of them. Long story short, I'm glad I invested the time in taking it up... Django was actually my first use of Pytho

I'd say that if you're buying an off the shelf program, it's likely because implementing it would take FAR longer than the (example) 3 hours to investigate their proprietary API. I think there is still a valid trade-off in purchasing - it j

I'd say it can be simplified even further: THINK before you SOLVE. A natural tendency for programmers/developers is to move towards a knee-jerk reaction of "I'll just start coding this". It's not that good solutions don't come up from that
