Maybe if I can trust them, which currently I have no basis to do so. And I don't use Google search anyway (brave search is really good), I just care about YouTube.

I hope a similar ruling comut out against google. I would pay for YouTube premium in a heartbeat if it meant they will stop tracking me and stalking my activity.

Brave won't be affected because brave shields aren't an extension and don't depend on the extension API.

I doubt its dependent on crypto, they have enough services such as brave search, vpn and meets. They probably generate enough revenue.

Brave isn't affected by this anyway, brave shields don't depend on the extension API. Also Gecko is just a factually worse engine, that's why they didn't use it.

OpenAI never gave equity.

I think openAI will become the research lab, while the new group in Microsoft lead by Sam will focus on creating products. I personally expect the chat.openai.com site to just become a redirect to copilot.microsoft.com.

AFAIK that's how OpenAI does it, the non-profit controls the for-profit.

Yeah I though that was the most probable reason, especially since these people don't have any equity, so they have no interest in the commercial growth of the org. Apparently Microsoft was also blindsided by this. https://ww

The issue with LTSC is it (afaik) sucks fkr gaming, with a lot of missing stuff for dx12 and so on.

The iPhone offered new possibilities, what does this offer which we don't have in a better form currently? AI powered voice control? Always on camera?

700$ for a device I can't watch videos on, locked to one provider and has only first party Apps. An immediate flop there is no doubt about it.

I think for a brief period it was allowed but as an alternative option, then they removed it.

It seems this won't remove the requirement for a phone number, rather it will serve as an alternative ID of sorts, same way Telegram does it now, they no longer allow signing up without a number.

Important to note: docker now supports running everything as rootless, with the same caveats as Podman.
