I'm slightly wary of thoughty2, I enjoy (can't say "like" nowadays) his videos, but I feel he is prone to the trap of many smart people, where he is too convincing, even to himself sometimes.

It's because DNA is not a one-to-one encoding from code to visible expression. Some very small genes have very large visible expression . Some large chunks of DNA have very little.

I was ready to vote you down, but the article was hilarious at the end. Would read again, it's absurd comedy at the end.

I know very little about Poland, but can't help but see a similarity between attitudes to the former serfs in Poland and the Irish in Great Britain. This article touches on it: https://wachtyrz.eu/antisemitism-in-poland

I don't believe there was something unusual going on, but I would not put any weight on visible on commercial tracking on or not. If it's something clandestine, it may be smarter to hide in "normality" rather than lookin

Hehe, my new work Lenovo laptop needs some kind of USB-C dongle for it to connect an external monitor. In the end, one needs two Lenovo chargers, the dongle and cables. Fun stuff. Plus the power supply to the monitor, of course. I expecte

I don't understand any of this. On Mars there's a lot of radiation anyway, and humans shouldn't go near the reactor after it's going critical. I don't know what you mean by chemical systems. The point is the reactor

I first thought Trump called his own house number while Trump was on the lawn, and Trumps wife had to get Trump while Trump waited on the line. Wouldn't be out of character a bit.

Just throwing in that genetic make-up of icelanders is surprisingly diverse, it's not as "Norse" as one could believe from just the language and culture. Not trying to make any particular point with that tidbit.

Use external USB SSD (what I did for a mail server). One could also be very aggressive with making the kernel lazy about flushing to SD card. (It has downsides, but if you put a UPS shield on, it's a pretty neat hack.)

I wonder how the affordability equation would change with a nuclear power plant. It could be pretty light weight, there is no need for shielding, and the water could possibly be used to cool it.
