I would also like to see some benchmarks, especially compared to aiohttp since that is what it appears to replace. I too am skeptical, aiohttp isn't all that fast, but it's execution time is negligible in a typical application.

Tangent, I know—but I am reminded of TempleOS, a pretty amazing OS written entirely by the late Terry Davis in his own variant of C. It has some amazing UI innovations and logical abstractions that never caught on elsewhere. Terry was aff

I have never considered reacting to the database like that. If I need something to happen on db writes, then I cobble together some kind of event system, or delegate those writes to a function that takes care of the side effects. Things l

Seems there is a bit of vendor lock-in here with flyio, the way he's throwing custom http error codes for their infra. Can I just run LiteFS on a few virtual machines and forward writes back to master? With LiteFS, what happens if mas

Who's forcing? People are just enthusiastic about vim because of the productivity bump when it clicks. I thought it was fun to learn, and didn't take long at all. I went through vimtutor, that was about it.

I have four eBay seller accounts. They require SS# and ID as part of managed payments, in addition to the EIN. There system didn't want to take the information on one of my accounts, even though it was valid, and they suspended payou

Perhaps the passage of time teaches that as well, as we collect examples of being wrong about things we knew to be true.

Used to feel that way, now coding is routine and no longer very thoughtful, and I can code when intoxicated without issue now, a little slower though.

I'm going to start hitting this "API" once a week to update the UA of my selenium tool that I call bullshit, that I use when I have to automate use of a business partner's website for lack of a proper API.

Not at all. I use VNC as well. It's great for remote administration. In my testing VNC was literally unusable with this virtual monitor setup, some kind of bug reading the headless display tanks the performance beyond practicality.
