Well, backend is our precious server resources and front end resources belong to the lowly user. It's a matter of scale though, frontend is optinized for one concurrent user. Plenty of small websites using slow and bloated frameworks

Just tried. Me: What is the square root of 2? GPT: The square root of 2 is approximately 1.414 I did notice some weird VOIP noise on my first call, so maybe it was receiving a bad audio stream.

Maybe moving the connection protocol into userspace isn't such a great plan.

When they say per interpreter GIL in PEP 684, is that per thread? I wasn't aware of multiple interpreters in one process.

It's very unpopular to mention Perl, but I did many cool things with it back in the day, and it still holds a special place for me. Perl taught me the power of regex--it's really first class in Perl. I still have some Perl code

I'm pretty much always in a container too, and I'm perfectly happy with the workflow, it scales just fine and can be orchestrated as well. When I'm deploying a new project, bringing up a new container with nginx is like 0.1%

Right. Everytime nginx comes up someone has to bring up how much better caddy is. After using nginx everywhere for nearly two decades I have no desire to learn a new tool. Nginx does everything I want, even some exotic stuff and plugins f

Yep, that's me. I use sqlite as a key value store. Usually just two columns per table, a key and value, that I map to a python dict, and pickle the value if I need something more complex.

So basically termux-usb let's you access USB devices. I love hacks like this, but I don't see using this for anything real. QEMU is heavy. Would it be possible to modify proot to expose the usb device as a device node and build

I'm a Kagi user too. I like your enthusiasm, but I can't say it's been all that life changing for me. DuckDuckGo is ok too, I still use it on some machines when I don't feel like logging in. GPT has been more life cha

Mobile providers have IPv6 only networks and use NAT64 with CGNAT and DNS64 to permit access to the legacy internet. No incoming IPv4 ports. CGNAT can serve way more than 32 customers per IP, and they are pooled.

NAT64 is a thing, combined with CGNAT it offers a way for IPv6 only clients to acess the legacy internet. Mobile prividers are doing this, ISPs can as well. It would incentivize IPv4 only sites to upgrade, to avoid the CGNAT.

Ah, thanks for explaining. So this is only an issue if there is a malicious actor present on the local network. I would say that you are already compromised at that point. Say you are using public WIFI, a VPN service is pointless, you alr

It seems that this is only an issue if there is a malicious actor present on the remote network. I've always considered VPN services to be snakeoil, and this doesn't really seem like a problem with VPN technology at all. If you

That's not really a PDF thing. In that case the PDF is a thin wrapper around raster images. Extract the images, increase the contrast with gimp or imagemagick, and make a new PDF. You could script this if you had a lot of them.

Depends on the production economics, how fast they scale, and what issues are discovered in real world use. There is some risk for everyone with new tech.
