You're first point is well made, however I don't have any other choice when I communicate with an Apple user. Everything is so siloed these days. The lack of federated protocols harms us all. You're second point is irrelavant

RCS is a carrier standard. It does not support end-to-end encryption. No one is suggesting that Apple stop allowing Apple users to communicate via iMessage. WhatsApp and friends are not baked in as the default messaging app in the domina

They are #2 globally, behind Samsung. 15.2% of the global smartphone market to Samsung's 20.8%. They are #1 in the US, 47% to Samsung's 34%. That is a dominant position. Apple would be wise to avoid the appearance of abusing t

There is nothing stopping Apple from implementing RCS. They can continue to go their own way with Apple devices, and support RCS for interop with non-Apple devices and for users who would rather not route their messaging through Apple. Tha

It works for us. Our daughter's room is probably the most decorated part of our our home. My wife loves gardening, but has found new hobbies. She doesn't share my enthusiasm for minimalism, but she has embraced it and is also h

I am in my 30's, am married, have a first grader, I love to travel but don't get the chance much these days. I agree with your points, different tokes for different blokes, just wanted to share my experience.

I have drastically minimalized over the last couple years. I sold my stupid big house, now I rent. I got rid of most of my stuff. I have minimal furniture, empty walls, I started biking everywhere instead of driving. I am much happier.

The destination carrier determines the maximum allowable size an MMS attachment can be: Tier 1 Carriers -- Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T -- all MMS content up to about 1 MB. Tier 2 Carriers allow MMS content of 600 KB. Tie

I run BIND on the router at each site I administer. The router gets a real domain name and is the authoritative nameserver for that domain. isc-dhcp-server is configured to assign a publicly routable IPv6 to each client, and update the BI

Syncthing is p2p, a relay is supported for when both clients are behind NAT on different networks. It supports local network discovery, but the use case is different. It's for syncing files between your devices, not one off transfers.

SLAAC works well and wouldn't without a >= 64 bit subnet. In a typical /64 assignment, the ipv6 equivalent of the 32-bit ipv4 public ip is the 64-bit prefix , I think squaring the address space is appropriate.

While I generally hate comcast, xfinity has good ipv6 support. It may be an issue with your router configuration.
