This looks like a high level design entry language. It gets its portability by outputting verilog/VHDL code that is then fed into your synthesis (compiler) tools from your FPGA vendor. There are fair number of these sorts of languages

APIs are just glue, what the FPGA world needs to be open is open compilers for high level hardware description languages. However, there is little incentive for FPGA manufacturers to publish enough details for open FPGA compilers to be deve

Really neat! Having a fixed framework to plug accelerator blocks into is lets accelerator designers cut to the chase. I'd bet the 10ms hit to reconfigure their zynq grows on larger FPGAs... Edit (Additional Thought): Thus could allow d

It certainly is exciting. Tech that began by replacing discrete logic ICs (TI 7400 series) is getting powerful enough to pack a computing punch. Look up systolic array architectures for matrix multiplication if you're not already famil

The reuse of their network infrastructure with this approach is elegant, BUT it takes about half of the FPGA to support the network pass through and lightweight transport layer. FPGAs are about as expensive as high end CPUs, can you afford

Age based discrimination is a thing, but it is nearly orthogonal to the context in which corporations think about diversity. This orthogonal its is a product of senior folks supposedly expecting more pay, and lack of oversight using age as

Can we just have martial law with curfew, checkpoints, and papers already? I don't know about you but having no rights would make me feel so much safer.

If you go vertical with housing projects you've only changed the slum from horizontal to vertical. In America they're known as projects and in France banlieus. And they don't really solve any problems. Building a society that

When you replace 1:1 vapor laps with LEDs an adequately lit parking lot becomes lit like a stage. Though to your color temp point, if we could get lower color temperature that'd be great. IIRC red LEDs are much more efficient than full

I think they mean that there is a lot of blue light emitted, but it is not super obvious because they emit longer wavelength light as well (reds & greens).

Yeah, until you drive out of the highly lit area. Then your eyes will have to take some time to adjust to the low light.

Yes! I am not crazy! Seriously, do we really need lights that make the city as light as in the day? I'd rather give my retinas a rest.
