I would really like links to twitter posts not be common on HM. How can you have a good discussion on 140 characters?

X220s and x230s come with either TN display, which is terrible or IPS display which is good. Both have the same resolution - 1378x768. There are mods that allow installation of an FHD display.

New York Post is not a credible source of information. Neither is The Sun ("originally published by The Sun"). Also the article could not be less informative.

No. I would, however, pay for a weekly summary of all important information from the world and places that interest me. Just facts, no opinions, no spins. I am sick and tired of clickbaits, sensationalism, tabloid news, blowing things out

Thinkpad is a good choice. If you live in the US and you budget is $300 you can easily get a T430s (s is thinner than non-s). If you are patient and willing to spend some time on ebay you could find X240 or T440 under $300. I would try to g

I still don't know how to enable e10s. That trick works on Developer version, not stable.

1) It is significantly slower. That's probably because multiprocess ("e10s") is not enabled (and I don't even know why). 2) Stable version still does not support touch scroll on Linux (only Developer version does). Also

This should not be on HN for two reasons: 1) Only people how already know and used RNN could be interested 2) It is not a good paper Let me explain. MNIST is not a good dataset for testing LSTMs. LSTMs were designed to handle sequential dat

If you have a very poor touchpad experience you are probably using synaptics driver. Replace it with libinput for much, much better feel (some distros use it as default including Fedora). I have the same problem with speakers though (X1 Yog

If you are looking for a hackable device with long support I would recommend Oneplus. I had 1+1 and loved it (but I smashed the screen). If you prefer smaller screen and are a bit adventurous you can try Nextbit Robin. Great design, looks l

You can opt out by unchecking "Allow Evernote to use business data to improve my experience”. I love hypocritical euphemisms companies use to get to your data.

That's true, according to the paper improvement over MLP is negligible. It looks like the model is very small and that might be a reason for relatively low performance.

I have no idea why more options for video output is a problem for the author. I would see this as the advantage. Also "Unnecessary SD slot" is con for one laptop. How is this a problem?

I use DuckDuckGo for search, Kolabnow for email, OwnCloud (owncube.com) for files, calendar, contacts. Unfortunately, I still use Google Services on my phone to use Google Play store for apps. I see no viable alternative for now.
