It's disconcerting this is written in the first person from Musk and not from a communications team as a public statement from the company. I think it's rather Freudian about his world view and behavior. He seems to have an opinio

This is key I believe. A lot of successful entrepreneurs had no safety net, and have been through significant adversity. Those that have been coddled and never held accountable have worse coping mechanisms and drive than those who have deal

That quarter below the poverty line is probably a little misleading in the way it's calculated. Students there are all living off parent money so their disposable income is much higher than hard data would suggest.

They had a relationship with Bitfinex, so they could easily convert to other shit coins and dump those to avoid tanking the BTC price when they dumped it.

Correct. There's also a strong relationship between Tether and Bitfinex directors. It's suspected they were using margin loans to leverage their fake money further, while denying fiat withdrawals to real customers.

Be careful, you have to use Tether as a currency, which by their own terms of service is worthless. In addition to this you have to do it on margin, and most exchanges have a history of dubious liquidation of margin positions.

This is excellent. Combined with some basic rules like no meetings on Fridays it can quickly become a simple and effective company culture.

I only found out about these a few months ago because there was always a cop leaning against one outside a ballpark before and after games with a radio plugged into it. I asked what he was doing and he gladly showed me that he was just manu

Pattern matching is very common in ML languages and is a core part of Rust. As another commenter said, it's like conditionals on steroids.

So it's purely for risk free investing? Investors are after a high reward but don't take on the risk?

It's not. The Ethereum foundation will continue to merge EIPs like this that benefit them and their cronies. The whole ETH/ETC fork was because they messed up the DAO contract, which set a precedent for "code is law, except w

Yep, I had an APFS volume that I couldn't even health check. I was pretty sure it was filesystem corruption as it'd hang and shut off randomly then come back up without issues, same as when the SSD died the first time. Also am r A

Interesting bit is the 280 characters of test data you can include, enough for a small amount of JSON. I worked on a hackathon for NAB where we proposed banks could be an auth provider for payments that require ID, e.g. Buying a SIM card, s

Sort of, in PDF form, by inserting invisible images/data crafted to create the collision. I haven't seen a collision demonstration with plain text that could be a practical attack.

It's a shame open source projects with great features still have astoundingly bad copywriting. No one cares about it having a database behind the scenes or the upgrade/downgrade process, tell me what it can do and how it compares

Also Bitfinex uses Tether tokens, not USD, which are by their own terms of service worthless, and it's dubious as to whether their actually backed by any real USD. This arbitrage exists because of the huge counterparty risk of exchange

Glad I'm not insane, spent a long haul flight digging into Solidity docs and truffle and it seemed like a minefield of trouble to build crippled applications.
