I have a Touchpad and a Pre3, and I have to say I love them both. When you get your Touchpad, please give webOS a go as it is a fanastic platform, you may find yourself wanted to keep it and hoping that HP keep it alive (like the rest of u

> IMO, webOS is a superior OS to Android. +1. I really don't understand why there is so much effort to install non-tablet OSs on a tablet with a lauded tablet-optimized OS already installed....

Totally agree, lets hope the man makes a full recovery. While I'm not a fan of Apple, I do appreciate his profound impact on this industry.

webOS is based on Linux, only tailored beautifully for a finger/touch based interface, so why bother replacing it with a variant of Linux that is not?

If people want to spend their time porting Android to Touchpad, then good luck to them. My point was that webOS is the best thing about the Touchpad, not the hardware (except maybe the Beats Audio speaker system), so why would I replace

Sorry guys but I just don't see the point. The issue with the Touchpad was the hardware, not the OS. A Touchpad with Android installed is a pretty poor prospect, frankly there are better Android tablets out there. I'm buying a Touchpad

Brilliant! Given my sadness today around HP destroying the mobile platform I love (webOS), this has really cheered me up ;-) I especially like the cheerio() function.

Speaking as someone who ordered one within Europe as soon as it was released directly from Europe, I'm frankly disgusted by this news and disgusted with the execs at HP. Will never buy one of their products again.

Hmmm, the Touchpad doesn’t have tabs in its browser, it opens up a new browser card which is an entirely different experience, so I’m not sure how you could have carried out this test?

I think if I was dumb enough to leave display_error on in production, I'd have a bigger problem with crackers being able to figure out sensitive details about my system from said error messages than worrying about them injecting scripts int

If you apply the 3.0.2 patch (an over the air update), it resolves most of the performance issues with webOS on the tablet. Unfortunately all of the online reviews were done using 3.0, so the misconception that webOS on the Touchpad = slow
